Foot Problems

Taloes bunions

It is mostly similar to a bunion (the same type of ailment affecting the big toe). It is usually characterized by inflammation, pain and redness of the little toe.

Plantar fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is the common cause of heel pain. The plantar supports the arch of your foot. If you strain your plantar fascia, it gets weak, swollen, and irritated (inflamed). Then your heel or the bottom of your foot hurts when you stand or walk.

Overlapping Toes

Overlapping toes is usually a congenital deformity that causes one toe to lie on top of another toe. It most often occurs with the little toe, but the middle toes can also be affected. Sometimes overlapping toes develop as the result of other foot conditions.

Morton’s toe

Morton’s toe is when the second toe is longer than the first toe (big toe).

Morton’s neuroma

Morton’s neuroma is a non-cancerous growth of nerve tissue (neuroma) that develops in the foot, usually between the third and the fourth toes. It is a common, painful condition.

Metatarsalgia

Metatarsalgia, is a type of pain and inflammation that occurs in the ball of foot. It often occurs in the metatarsal heads – where the three middle toes meet the ball of the foot.

Heel Spurs

When a foot bone is exposed to constant stress, calcium deposits build up on the bottom of the heel bone. Repeated damage can cause these deposits to pile up on each other, causing a spur-shaped deformity, called a heel spur.

Hammer Toes

A hammer toes are common and painful deformities in the three middle toes where they appear to always be bent.

Calluses

Callus is a toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. Calluses may sometimes lead to other problems, such as skin ulceration or infection.

Bunions

Bionova_bunions

Bunion is a deformity characterized by lateral deviation of the great toe, often erroneously described as an enlargement of bone or tissue around the joint at the head of the big toe. Bunions are commonly associated with a deviated position of the big toe toward the second toe, and the deviation in the angle between the first and second metatarsal bones of the foot.

Arch Pain

Bionova_arch-pain

Arch pain is common in people with a typical structural problem known as flat feet. Without properly supported arches, simple movement can pull your body out of alignment and cause stress, strain and fatigue to your lower body.

Achilles Tendinitis

Bionova_achilles-tendonitis

Achilles tendinitis occurs when the Achilles tendon becomes inflamed as a result of the Achilles tendon being put under too much strain. It is generally caused by overuse of the affected limb and is more common among athletes training under less than ideal conditions. Development of Achilles tendinitis depends on the type, frequency and severity of exercise or use. It is a common injury, particularly in sports that involve lunging and jumping.
